She did nothing more than what she had to, but to run and make her country proud, which is what millions of South Africans cannot wait to see her on their screens to see what she will do with her speed of the rocket she has. Semenya makes her Olympic debut after gender testing following her victory after 2009 Olympics. For her to come all this way, it shows that she has really got what it takes to be the number one athlete of women's champion. She has come across devasting adversities, ever since her gender controversy. Yesterday she qualified to go run Women's 800m semi-finals, round 1. Tonight she made it again by coming first on the second round of the semi-finals.

As an agenda-setter, the media has a duty to portray not just what is, but what could be; to be exemplary in its own practises; and to open debate on the complex issues surrounding gender equality.I am proud to know women of all shapes, sizes, six-packed or not. Caster Semenya, will always be our favourite athlete and we will always appreciate what she does. Now we are looking forward to see her on finals, bringing the 'GOLD' home from the 2012 London Olympics. Caster has pushed herself a lot more to secure her spot to the finals, which will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 9:00 PM, all will be live on SABC 2.
Ausi Caster Semenya is another good example to developing women athletes.
ReplyDeleteAnd the great icon in the athletics of SA
DeleteA big round of hands to the legendary Semenya who never lets us down. We are a disgrace in the 2012 London olympics that am even ashamed to say South Africa is number 18 but atleast we still have people like Semenya who are trying by all means to represent us.
ReplyDeleteBeing number 18 is better and nothing compared to those who didn't manage to be the top 18.
DeleteCaster Semenya is a golden woman, atleast she won something unlike nothing.Being number 18 in the word is a big achievement and i hope in the next olympics will drop to the top 5 in the world.
ReplyDeleteWe will be in the top 5 one once we have more people that are involved with sports in our country, and that is why I always say that its our responsibilty to ensure that our brothers and sisters that are still growing committs to sport.
DeleteFor Caster to be at the 2012 London Olympics proved how fit she was;even though she did not meet the world's expectations. However, she tried but I believe in what we call a "second chance"...may be in the long term she will get our country a Gold Medal.
ReplyDeleteShe got a Silver which is better than nothing, she did her best and I am really proud of her and of the effort she put through this
DeleteCaster is an amazing woman and she works so hard to make her country proud and known worldwide. The most remarkable thing about her is that she is a people's person, she is down to earth and she always remembers that there are millions of South Africans watching and supporting her whenever she has to compete; and I think that is what makes her to excell and be the person that she is. She did us proud by bringing a silver medal to our country.
ReplyDeleteWhen you know what are people's expectations from you, I think you committ and msure that you make them proud for supporting you, thumbs up to her hard work
Deleteshe surely made us proud.working hard really payes off at the end.
ReplyDeleteHard work pays off indeed, meaning that in life we are not suppose to take things for granted or become driven by egotism in achieving our dreams
Deletecaster is such an example to other women, as she is a prove that in life you can have a hard time in your career but we should stay strong and deal with ythem she such an inspiration for me,she is a hard worker who really aims to achieve her dreams w
ReplyDeleteAdversities does not mean that you can show off your tale and become the best person who you can be. It taks a person who have confidence and courage to say 'I AM GOING TO DO IT', so hard-working is very significant when you are on a mission
DeleteShe really made us proud she did her best
ReplyDeleteand me too, I am so proud of her... though I still think she must have brought so Gold. Her medal is better than nothing and I am sure that by 2016 she will do the wonders in the world of sports
DeleteI know it's not easy, but I feel like Caster didn't run as fast as she could... She stayed at the back for too long during the race, that strategy didn't work for her. But hey she got the silver, so WELL DONE Mokgadi!
ReplyDeleteI think she was avoiding the attention that she was going to get if she ran as fast as had to. But the silver is better than nothing yes.
DeleteShe gave South African women real pride on their month by getting the medal through her athletic skills, she has made the nation proud.
ReplyDeleteIndeed the nation is proud of her, even though there is some grievance from certain people, blaiming her of not bringing the gold back to SA. She is a true woman
DeleteAs South Africans we are so proud of caster, although she could have done better, but we still call her the champion after the trauma that she went through in 2009, of gender issues.
ReplyDeleteShe is a true champion an I am sure that many south africans are proud of her because of the strength and courage to do something with so much effort
DeleteShe kept cool in the face of insults and gross violation
ReplyDeleteThats very true and I salute her for that
